During this chapter, Strayer discusses the Industrial Revolution which occurred from the 1750's to the 1900s. It transformed human society through technological advances and propelled society into the world of capitalism, globalization as well as global warming. The Industrial Revolution was a period where the cottage industry shifted to mass production. Population migration shifted from the country into the society, where urbanization started. Britain became the world's first industrialized society and then sparked a revolution of technological advances throughout the world.
